I wanted to mount the pitot tube on the lower surface of the LH wing, outboard of the strut attach point to make sure the probe was in un-disturbed air.

I started by cutting the hole for the mast using a template which I downloaded from Dynon. After carefully trimming the hole to final dimensions I located and drilled the fastener holes through the mast and skin.

Next I dimpled the fastener holes in the skin and made small countersinks in the mast platform so it would nest over the dimples in the skin.
