Trim top cowling almost to size

Previously the top cowling was cut to within about 1cm of the final length. Through this process I had the cowling strips clecoed adjacent to the bottom cowling, but unclecoed along the top cowling. To progress the cutting of the top cowling, I rivetted the remanufactured cowling strips into place along the top cowling. This tends to straighten up the top of the firewall, permitting an effort to cut the top cowling to final length, or something very close to it.

In the event I became unhappy about the ability of the remanufactured cowling strips to follow the planarity of the side skin and cowling. The effect is to make the cowling sit proud of the side skin, and when finally held in place with DZUS fasteners the issue would likely become more apparent. I have decided to do the cowling strips again, basing it on the rev 5 shape.

So I held of cutting the top cowling to final length, instead leaving it at 2mm overhang. I then deriveted the cowling strips. The 2mm overhang is small enough to allow the use of clecoes along the top of the firewall permitting some rev 5 strips on loan to be used for continued fitment work.
