Test of canopy material with various solvents
I am not totally sure of what the canopy bubble is made from. The Sling documentation states perspex, but other have referred to polycarbonate. These materials have differing resistance to solvents. I decided to test isopropanol, mineral turpentine, and acetone. I immersed pieces of the caonpy material into these solvents for 12 hours or more. I found that the isopropanol and mineral turpentine had no effect on the material, no fogging, crazing nor softening was evident. However be warned, while isopropanol is well-defined substance, mineral turpentine is not, and may vary between brands and location.
