Wing Skins

Determined location and additional structure for hard points in the wing. These will be located just outboard of the strut attachment fittings.

Using other builders experience, I decided to use six K1000-3 nut plates in the lower rib flange. A 3” piece of 2024T3 angle will be fit the rib flange with the nut plate attached. The angle will be captured by three rib flange/skin rivets. The vertical portion of the angle will be riveted to the rib web and an 0.032 aluminum doubler. This will spread any applied load across the rib flange and web in two rows of three fasteners.

The nut plates will allow up to six AN3 bolts to secure a mounting plate below the wing and outboard of the strut. Possible loads to carry may be storage pods, a small bike, or various other additions.

Only reasonable loads should be attached and flight testing should occur to determine flight characteristics.

These angles constitute the front mount for each wing.
