Sling TSi from kit to flight one cleco at a time

Selecting the Upholstery – Quality, Customization, and Simplicity

One of the great things about building a Sling TSi is getting the best of both worlds—customization and simplicity. Unlike fully custom experimental aircraft, where everything has to be sourced separately, Sling offers high-quality, factory-made upholstery that fits perfectly while still allowing for personalization.

Sling’s upholstery is authentic leather with premium carpeting, designed to look and feel like something from a high-end, certified aircraft. The fit and finish are excellent, and there’s a good range of color options to match different aesthetic preferences. If you’re curious about the upholstery some video and images are available here, here, and here.

For my selection, I’m focusing on a practical but stylish approach:

  • No smudges – Something that doesn’t show wear too easily.
  • Easy to clean – Because keeping it looking good should be simple.
  • An airy feel – Lighter tones to keep the cabin bright and open.
  • Matches my exterior paint scheme – The interior should complement the primary colors of the airplane.

One more piece coming together, next finalize the design and paint scheme.
