CONTACT !!!
Made contact with Jordan Lake Aero ....
I finally was able to establish contact with Jordan Lake Aero; those folks are busy, located back east in the lower 48, and I'm on Alaska Daylight Savings Time ...not too sure of what daylight we are saving up here in the land of 27/7 daylight from June, July, and mid-August ...but hey it is what it is. For us here in North Pole once the sun starts going down the days get shorter and shorter and from mid-October to mid-April ...well it's more night time than daylight.
I'm happy to be able to talk with these folks and discuss my build ideas. I'm still waiting for the plans to arrive but this time has given me the opportunity to muck out the garage and get a workbench built for welding up the fuselage.I'm looking around for a small 4-stroke liquid cooled engine, or maybe a Hirth 2-stroke 3203 with fuel and oil injection. I wouldn't mind a 2-stroke that was fuel injected so messing with carbs and needles and such is what I want to avoid. Liquid cooling is an advantage in making for some form of heat by-pass for heating the legs and area behind the windscreen. Just a lot pf head noodling and planning for my part right now.
I'm going to buy a welder, most likely a TIG or maybe a dual use type (MiG/TIG) and teach myself how to weld. It's been more than 40 years since my last attempt to weld, it was oxyacetylene and not very airworthy at that so the educational part of the 51% rule is definitely going to apply for my project.
