Fly, Retire / Build, Fly!

I am a 35-year recently retired Airline Pilot. I have always been intrigued by Experimental/Amateur-built aircraft. In March of 2018, my wife and I toured the Van's Aircraft factory in Aurora, Oregon. For our mission, the RV-14 fits our needs perfectly. In early June of this year, I had the opportunity to take a demo ride in the RV-14 with Mitch Lock, former President of Van's. The -14 flies like a larger aircraft than it really is. It's fast, yet very stable.

I asked my wife to come along on this adventure with me, since I follow HER direction very well. We're excited.

We're here on We Build Planes to follow examples of other amateur builders, and maybe through documenting our build, someone might get something from it.
