Spar Prep

Started with spars for port wing. Riveted doublers and drilled mounting bolt hole in front spar. I used a reamer for final sizing, came out very well and tight to the bolt.

Cut out landing light opening with a Dremel, the cut was very rough and I plan to get an small jig saw or air saw for the starbord side. I had been using the Proxxon MIcromot devices and I like them very much but they are underpowered for this job. I got a Dremel and it's a lot less precise and of lower quality overall but it was (barely) strong enough. I consider to get the 115V rotary tool from Proxxon to replace the Dremel.

Lots of filing was involved due to the roughness of the cut but came out very smooth.

After finishing this I decided to proceed with flaps and ailerons as they will be needed when finishing up the wing (fit the gap seals).
