Flaps, Floor panels, Fuel calibration, Compass calibration
Flaps
I removed the flap guide from the cockpit floor and changed stage 2 and 3 to a ratchet action, and enlarged the notch for stage 4 to prevent it jumping out.
Ailerons
The aileron cables were also rubbing on the floor panel, so I cut a slot to provide more clearance.
Fuel Sight Gauge Calibration
I towed the aircraft to the fuel pump behind my truck, and added 20 liters per tank at a time. Beside the sight gauges I had a piece of tape that I marked each 20 liters on. Later on I replaced the tape with transfer labels.
Compass calibration
While I had the aircraft out, we parked it clear of the buildings and calibrated the compass. On the Dynon this is done by facing to the four cardinal points, and pressing a corresponding button to lock in each heading. Kevin had a master compass for doing compass swings, so he was able to accurately check each heading.
Engine
We clarified today that the engine has a maximum RPM of 2575 (rather than 2700) so the RPM obtained on the full power check is closer and probably fine for a static run up. I'm still waiting to hear if this maximum RPM should be increased now that the engine is fuel injected and slightly higher horsepower.
